Two ways to strengthen the aluminum sheet

1. Work strengthening
Work strengthening also known as the cold-work hardening, it can be strengthen the hardness of aluminum sheet in crystallization temperature, it has many processing ways, such as forging, rolling, drawing, extruding and so on. The inside of aluminum sheet could be attributed to the formation of high-density dislocations during the work strengthening, and entangled with each other and form a cellular structure to prevent dislocation movement. The higher the degree of deformation, the higher the dislocation entanglement, and the greater the deformation resistance, the higher the intensity. After the cold-work  hardening, the degree of hardening is related to its degree of deformation, the deformation temperature and nature.
 
2. Solid solution strengthening
Solid solution strengthening is adding some alloy elements in pure aluminum constitutes an infinite solid solution or a limited solid solution, this not only achieves a high strength, but also obtain an excellent plasticity and outstanding processing function. Copper, magnesium, manganese, zinc, silicon, nickel and other elements are the common alloy element that used in the solid solution strengthening of aluminum sheet. In general, Aluminum alloying will constitutes a limited solid solution, such as Al-Mg, Al-Zn, Al-Si and so on, and most of the limited solid solution has a great strengthening effect.
After the strengthening processing, the hardness function of a strengthened aluminum sheet will be significantly improved, however, its hardness can no be enhanced anymore.
